While metallics were seen in many colors including the icy pale ones, gold was a major trend on the runways. Gold details were seen on fabrics from brocades, velvets, leather and animal skin to satin and silk. They were spotted in the form of paillettes, beading, sequins, spikes, pleats, drapes, 20s and baroque motifs, chains, links, gilded finishes, embroidered details, embossed effects, spray painted feathers, shiny high-finish metallic effects, fluid liquid effects, gem stones and shimmery threads. Metallic gold colors were spotted on bow hairbands, embossed floral sunglasses, star hair clips, brooches, sleek neck cuffs, bobby pins, belt buckles and other pieces. From rose gold and olive gold to yellow gold, there were many tones of gold to choose from. You can always add a few accent pieces to your winter wardrobe if the thought of adding too much gold scares you. Click here for a DIY tutorial on how to make a shimmery gold shooting stars clip inspired by Rodarte's fall show. Would you add gold to your winter wardrobe?  Which was your favorite gold piece from the fall runways?

Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.

  10. I love the way women have changed the code of fashion over the past few years--it's now cool to wear metallics both day and night now. Albeit, I like to do this in small doses . . .

    1. So agree on that! It's interesting to see this color used in day time looks. I like it small doses too. Same with animal prints. I was never a gold person but they do go well with all the fall looks. :)
