Golden Globes 2013 Trends

This year the red carpet at the Golden Globes was filled with energetic and dark to dreamy and rich colors.  Here are some of my favorite looks from the night.

Fiery Reds

Jennifer Lawrence (Dior), Jessica Alba (Oscar de la Renta), Marion Cotillard (Dior),
Joey Deschanel (Oscar De Le Renta), Clair Danes (Versace), Miranda Kerr (Zuhair Murad),
Naomi Watts (Zac Posen), Taylor Swift (Donna Karan), Jennifer Garner (Vivienne Westwood )

A mix of orange and red dominated the night with tones ranging from energetic peaches, corals and tangerine to edgy oxblood and plums. Gowns worn by Jessica Alba and Miranda Kerr were my favorite in this group.

Dreamy Lights

Kerry Washington (Miu Miu), Jennifer Lopez (Zuhair Murad), Anne Hathaway (Chanel), Megan Fox (Dolce & Gabbana), Amanda Seyfried (Givenchy)

Pale palette gowns lit up the red carpet with details such as lace, shimmer work, sheer overlay, subtle peplum, fishtail shapes and keyhole cutouts. Gowns worn by Kerry Washington, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried were my favorite in this group.

Dusky Blues

Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan, Lucy Liu in Carolina Herrera, Kerry Washington (lilac blue eyes)

I think Kerry Washington's lilac blue eyes really looked great with her haircut and gown.

The Cut

Emily Blunt (Michael Kors), Kristin Wiig (Michael Kors), Kate Hudson (Alexander McQueen)

Golden Touch

Kate Hudson (Alexander McQueen), Michele Dockery (Alexander Vauthier), Helen Mirren (Badgley Mischka)

Kate Hudson's gold detailed cutout McQueen gown was gorgeous and one of the best looks at the award show. What do you think of her gown?

Hair

 Texture Treat

Emily Blunt, Lucy Liu, Julianne Moore, Katharine McPhee

Long Waves

Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson, Megan Fox, Amanda Seyfried

Short Cuts

Kerry Washington and Anne Hathaway

Hairstyles ranged from textured top buns, textured and twisted mermaid braid (Lucy Liu), retro waves and sleek blunt bobs to pixie cuts. Overall, I loved Lucy Liu embracing her fun side by going for a floral gown and Taylor Swift in a dark plum colored gown which was an unexpected option for her.

Did you watch the show? What are your favorite looks from the night? Would love to read your comments. :)

    1. Kate Hudson was one of the best dressed there. Some didn't care for Lucy Liu's floral gown but I thought it brought out her easy going and fun side. :)

  9. There were many great looks on the red carpet at the Golden Globes this year and not as many misses as usual. I liked that there were many ladies in color as well as black and white. I thought Kate Hudson's AMQ gown was a standout. I wasn't a fan of Lucy Liu's gown or braid for that matter. The pattern and color just looked too much like granny's curtains to me. Loved Kerry Washington and Anne Hathaway's pretty coifs as well.

    1. I agree.. there weren't many misses this time. t usually find all over flowers very overwhelming so I didn't like Lucy Liu's gown right away but I loved the color, her braids and how happy she looked in that gown. Thanks so much for sharing your views. :)
